Funny how things you never expected to appreciate can take on a whole new light when they’re gone. In simple terms, I think it’s like resetting your tasting bits when you do the Tribe’s Quarterly Challenge. The optional dry week gives you enough distance from whisk(e)y, to find a somewhat fresh perspective when you finally dive back into the glass.
How about a special Black Friday deal, after you indulge me with a few paragraphs of pondering?
I’ve been thinking about my past holiday travels. Never really enjoyed it. I actually like my family, but dragging a swarm of kids across the U.S. was always more of a chore than a break.
Haven’t done that in a few years. Several reasons. Gotta admit though, without the option of making a holiday trip - I miss it. The weird restaurants, a dated guest room, always running on someone else’s schedule. That all sounds strangely great right now.
I know if we knuckled down, we could find a way to transport our little pile of humans for the holidays. It just wouldn’t be the same. (at least this year.)

The boilers at the Oban distillery in Argyle and at the Royal Lochnagar distillery in Aberdeenshire will be converted to depend on liquid biofuels produced from vegetable oil residue, which the company has described as 100 per cent renewable
