Sounds like the beginning of a joke, but it was the scene at Crowded Barrel last week. No bawdy punchline, just a collection of socially distanced Magnificent Bastards visiting their distillery and sharing stories.

A marine, an author, and a Franciscan friar were sitting in a bar. Sounds like the beginning of a joke, but it was the scene at Crowded Barrel last week. No bawdy punchline, just a collection of socially distanced Magnificent Bastards visiting their distillery and sharing stories.

A comment I often hear from visiting MB’s is, “It’s smaller than I expected.”

First, that’s what she said. Second, yah, the place definitely looks bigger on camera.

But every once in a while we get a reminder that this community is doing impressive things together. For example, our distillery was just mentioned in a Forbes article, “The Future Of American Whiskey: 15 Trends To Watch In 2021”

Crowded Barrel pops up in trend #13 talking about collaborations and blending.

Case in point, we’re on course to launch at least 1 (possibly 3) Crowded Barrel labels that will finally be big enough to hit retail shelves in 2021. And yah - there will definitely be collaborations and blending involved.

Individually, our stories run the gamut of marines, friars, authors, and everyone in between.

Collectively, Crowded Barrel is a story of thousands of whiskey lovers coming together to weave one helluva yarn.

Best I can tell, it’s a story about that time a bunch of Magnificent Bastards rallied around some YouTube dorks, and launched a whiskey distillery that punches well above its weight.

Here’s to being note-worthy,
