That’s the exciting part. So what kind of glorious spirit will our inaugural bottle be? A single malt? Nope. Bourbon? Not yet. A unique whisk(e)y blend? Sorry. Rye? Nuh uh. The first product the Whiskey Tribe’s distillery is releasing into the wild is… a sourced vodka.

This is a little embarrassing, but mostly exciting.

Magnificent Bastards have always needed to visit Crowded Barrel to grab a bottle. Now, it’s finally time to send a product to retail partners for distribution beyond our little tasting room in Austin, TX. Better yet, our first retail partner should be able to deliver bottles directly to MB’s in 34 states. (AZ, CA, CO, CT, DC, DE, Fl, ID, IL, IA, IN, LA, KY, MD, MA, ME, MO, MT, NE, NV, NH, NJ, NY, NC, ND, NM, OR, RI, SC, SD, VA, VT, WA, WI, WV)

[cue nervous laughter]. Stay with me. This will all make sense soon.

Several months ago, we tapped our friends at Gulf Coast Distilling for some vodka so we could make more cocktails in our tasting room, and stay focused on whiskey. As far as vodka goes, it makes a damn fine cocktail if that’s what you’re into.

But the reason it’s our first retail release is pretty simple. We’ve never had a 3rd party distribute Crowded Barrel products, and if something goes horribly wrong - it’s 100x easier for us to replace a vodka than a limited edition whiskey.

That’s it. Our Silly Goose vodka is just a low risk experiment in getting bottles out to MB’s. If everything works smoothly, we can follow it up with ever more interesting whiskeys as they become ready.

Even if you don’t drink vodka, everyone needs a good quality bottle on hand for friends and family, right? Cool. Glad you agree. Here’s the deal. This link will let you sign up for an email notification as soon as our Silly Goose Vodka is available for purchase.

There’s a limited number of Silly Goose bottles, but we’ll notify you via email you as soon as the order page goes live. AND, when you sign up for this email notification, you’ll be among the first to know about all future retail releases of Crowded Barrel whiskey - immediately after MB’s in Patreon have a go.

It feels a little strange rooting for a vodka, even when it’s ours. But considering how this bottle is laying the foundation for upcoming whiskey releases, I just have one thing to say…

Godspeed you silly little bastard.
