When you learn something, that thing owns part of you forever. Knowledge breeds obligation. If you CAN do a thing, perhaps you SHOULD do it. And sometimes you MUST do it, if you hope to live with yourself afterwards.
And sometimes knowledge leads to things that should end instead of things that begin.
We do Dry Week for this reason. It begins today at 12pm and ends next Friday at 12pm. During Dry Week, all willing Magnificent Bastards abstain completely from alcohol.
For some it’s a chance to take a break, reset your palate, and approach what you love fresh and new. For others it’s a wake up call when an intentional pause turns out to be harder than you thought.
Ignorance is not bliss, and knowledge is not free. You only have enough room in your soul for a certain number of cans shoulds and musts.
See you on the other side.
